Dr. Imad Al-Zeer Participates in the Board of Directors Meeting of the Arab Council for Student Training and Innovation in Tunisia
Dr. Imad Al-Zeer, President of Palestine Ahliya University, participated in the 32nd Annual Board of Directors meeting of the Arab Council for Student Training and Innovation, which was held on Saturday at the University of Tunis El Manar in the Republic of Tunisia. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Nathir Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan.
The meeting reviewed the activities of the Arab Council during 2024, discussed the training report for the same year, as well as outlined the key activities for 2025 and approved the Council’s general budget.
The meeting addressed a number of important issues, including the approval of new recommendations aimed at enhancing the Council’s operations and expanding its activities. Among the most prominent recommendations was the establishment of the Arab Training Platform and the launch of the Arab Training Week program, which will commence its first edition this year in collaboration with the University of Sharjah – United Arab Emirates. Additionally, specialized committees were also formed to follow up on the implementation of the Council’s future projects.
Dr. Imad Al-Zeer emphasized the importance of the Arab Council for Student Training and Innovation and its role in promoting collaboration in the field of student training and innovation among Arab universities. He highlighted the need to expand the scope of training programs and develop initiatives that contribute to enhancing students’ competencies and refining their skills to meet the demands of the labor market.
Dr. AL-Zeer also highlighted the importance of student exchange opportunities in enabling students to acquire diverse skills, exchange academic and cultural experiences, thereby opening up new horizons for knowledge and development.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Moez Chafra, President of the University of Tunis El Manar; Prof. Dr. Abu Qasim Muhammad Shalouf, President of the Open University of Libya; Prof. Mushtaq Talib Saleh, President of the University of Anbar; Prof. Fawaz Al-Zghoul, Director of the Arab Council; Prof. Anas Ratib Alsoud, Executive Director of the Association of Arab Universities; and Engineer Jihad Nimir Al-Kharaz, Assistant Director of the Council and Secretary of the meeting.
The meeting was also attended virtually by Engineer Ziad Saaida, Chairman of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Prof. Hala El-Menoufi, Board Member of Misr University for Science and Technology; and Dr. Ali Al-Hayek from the University of Sharjah.
