Palestine Ahliya University Visits Zarqa University in Jordan and Signs A Joint Cooperation Agreement
Within the framework of Palestine Ahliya University’s regional and international activities, the university signed a joint cooperation agreement with Zarqa University in Jordan during a visit that included the university president Dr. Imad Al-Zeer, Mr. Jiries Abu Ghannam, President Assistant for International and Public Relations Affairs, and the director of the Computer Center Mr. Basem Tomazy. The delegation was welcomed by the President of Zarqa University, Prof. Nidal Al-Ramahi, the Vice President of Zarqa University, Prof. Ala’eddin Sadiq, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Omar Al-Makhzumi, the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Al-Qawasmi, and the Director of the Computer Center, Dr. Amer Abu Salem.
The visit included discussions on ways to enhance cooperation and the signing of an academic cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening international collaboration in research and academic fields. It also focused on expanding the scope of cooperation between the two universities through the exchange of faculty members and postgraduate students, as well as joint supervision of postgraduate students. Additionally, the agreement covers cooperation in consultancy, professional training, and organizing joint conferences.
Prof. Al-Ramahi provided an overview of the university’s establishment, the distinctive undergraduate and master’s programs it offers, and the services it provides to the local community, both in research and service related. He also highlighted the centers and departments within the university and the services they offer. Additionally, he pointed out that the university strives for excellence in scientific research by supporting researchers and partnering with various institutions, which has led to the university’s distinction at the local, Arab, and international levels and its inclusion in global rankings.
Dr. Imad Al-Zeer, for his part, provided an overview of Palestine Ahliya University, its programs, and the strategic vision for the coming years. He praised the collaboration between the two universities, in the fields of scientific research, academics, and administration which is reflected in the cooperation agreement. This agreement provides a collaborative framework that aligns with the goals and the mission of both universities, benefiting both parties by achieving their goals and leveraging the talents and innovative, research-oriented ideas. Dr. Al-Zeer also emphasized that the university is making significant efforts to enhance academic collaboration with local, regional, and international universities and to promote a culture of openness and knowledge dissemination.
The visit included a tour of many of the university’s facilities. The delegation visited the Control and Command Center, the Library Unit, the Computer Center, the Pharmaceutical Research Center, and the Energy Research Center, as well as the Faculty of Dentistry, the Media Faculty studios, and the university radio station.
