Palestine Ahliya University announces its final subgrant winners
Within the activity of U-SOLVE project, Palestine Ahliya University announces its final 5 winners who will receive the project subgrant for launching and supporting their businesses. After a journey of over year and half of evaluating the needs of the Palestinian ecosystem, scouting for creative ventures, training and coaching the entrepreneurs, the journey is finally crowned with the launch of 5 successful startup to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Palestine.
The selection of the subgrantees was based on a long process of evaluation which included three steps in the U-SOLVE project overall and 4 step in Palestine in particular. In the Pre-selection phase, PAU attracted over 203 applications, 45 startups were accepted in Step 1, from which 28 were accepted from Step 2, from which 11 were qualified to pitch their idea in Step 3 as part of the U-SOLVE pitching day where they were evaluated by a committee of the project team and external experts to lead to the selection of the final 5 winners.
The selected ventures are:
- Robotics Academy is a certified Educational Centre specialized in teaching robotics, coding, and artificial intelligence to students aged 3 to 19. Our teaching methods make learning fun and focus on important skills like teamwork, communication, and problem solving.
- Jusoor Labs is a startup in the field of education technology (EdTech). Our primary focus is on STEM subjects, and provides interactive 3D simulations and virtual labs for both students and educational institutions.
- Tour Palestine platform: Tour Palestine is an informative and interactive platform to shed the light on the beauty of the Palestinian cities including all the cultural features of every city, including all the cultural features of every city, listing all the sites. All translated into 6 languages.
- Blue Filter project is a water treatment solution that uses plant seeds to filter pollutants from water, such as nitrates, salinity, and chloride. It is designed to provide farmers with clean water for irrigation, without the need for transportation. The Blue Filter is a (plastic or metal) mold filled with treated plant seeds that is placed in water basins for treatment.
- Warsheh is a Training space that provides those who are interested with the opportunity to learn digital audio-visual production techniques and develop the skills of those wishing to specialize in modern technologies
Each of the winning teams will receive a grant of €10,000 through the U-SOLVE project and will have the opportunity to further develop their solutions and make an impact.
