This specialization employs advanced innovative technology and data analysis to develop engineering systems. It is considered the nucleus for establishing civil engineering and intelligent systems, as it integrates different knowledge fields, including electrical and electronic engineering, computer engineering, information technology, and artificial intelligence. The program’s primary goal is to provide the local, national, and international labor market with competitive engineers who possess knowledge, concepts, abilities, and skills in the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of smart devices and systems, including computing devices, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, cloud services and devices, control devices, and communication devices, in addition to Apps of artificial intelligence, data science, and massive data.

The Intelligent Systems Engineering program is the first in Palestinian universities in the West Bank since it grants a Bachelor’s degree in Intelligent Systems Engineering with a study plan of 162 credit hours distributed on theoretical and practical fields.

Admission Requirements and Criteria of Acceptance:

Passing the General Secondary Examination (Tawjihi), or its equivalent, with an average of at least  80% in scientific, industrial or IT streams.

International certificates such as the French Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate, and British General Certificate of Education (GCE) are also acceptable.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs): Upon the completion of this specialization, students are expected to be able to:

  1. Have extensive knowledge of electronics, systems, and smart devices and their practical applications.
  2. Be capable of dealing with contemporary trends in intelligent systems and their applications (Internet of Things, massive data, cloud computing, deep learning, artificial intelligence, data science, etc.).
  3. Possess in-depth knowledge of modern programming languages and tools that support innovative computing.
  4. Be able to analyze massive data, such as social media, medical, and industrial data, to make informed decisions.
  5. Have the ability to make strategic decisions based on intelligent data models and use artificial intelligence.
  6. Be able to design smart devices and systems based on requirements analysis and organized processes.
  7. Be able to develop and build intelligent systems and Apps (web, mobile, embedded) using necessary software and hardware.
  8. Have sufficient knowledge of electronic chips, sensors, and microcontrollers and program and use them for real-world intelligent applications.
  9. Have the capacity to inspect and maintain smart devices, chips, sensors, and systems.
  10. Have extensive experience in cyber security techniques and tools, dealing with security breaches in intelligent applications and systems.
  11. Be aware of discussing the ethical aspects of information technology, communications, and the intelligent world.
  12. Possess efficient communication skills.
  13. Have the ability to establish a startup company in this promising field.
  14. Gain practical experience from companies through working while studying.
