SPEED Project Overview
The SPEED Project (Skilling up and Digitization for a Sustainable and Electric Future) is an Erasmus+ initiative aimed at advancing Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) education and technology in the Mediterranean region. By fostering collaboration between European and Mediterranean universities, the project seeks to develop and reform academic curricula, establish International Centers of Hybrid Electric Vehicle Technologies (HEV-T), and equip students and professionals with specialized expertise in HEV systems, manufacturing, and energy management.
Key Objectives:
- Curriculum Development: Introduce innovative MSc and undergraduate modules on HEV technologies and Rational Use of Energy, aligning with European and international quality standards.
- Center of Excellence: Establish a research and training hub for HEV advancements, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
- Workforce Training: Offer professional training programs tailored to local market needs, bridging the skills gap in HEV design, maintenance, and systems integration.
- Internationalization & Mobility: Facilitate student and staff exchanges to enhance knowledge sharing and cross-cultural learning.
- Digital Learning & Innovation: Integrate online platforms, simulation tools, and virtual laboratories to provide flexible and accessible education.
- Sustainability & Industry Engagement: Develop industry best practices for clean and efficient HEV production, supporting the energy transition and environmental sustainability goals.
Impact:
By building regional expertise in HEV technologies, SPEED contributes to the global shift toward sustainable transportation, supports the 2050 decarbonization goals, and empowers a new generation of professionals to lead the future of green mobility in the Mediterranean.
