About the Program

The Faculty of Law is one of the first faculties established by Palestine Ahliya University in 2007. The Faculty takes pride in its remarkable achievements over a short time among other Palestinian Law Faculties. The Faculty offers a Bachelor of Law Program supported by technical and practical training in order to produce qualified lawyers. A law student will undertake a number of legal subjects which vary from Public and Private Law to other important legal issues that qualify the student to pursue their higher legal studies.

The Bachelor of Law Program aims to create well-qualified law professionals who are able to promote Palestinian legislation in all fields which complement the social, cultural, and economic environment of Palestine. Further, it fills the Justice Sector’s requirement (The Palestinian Judiciary, the Ministry of Justice, and the Public Prosecutor). The Bachelor of Law Programgraduates are able to be legal advisors for the Palestinian Authority’s Ministries. Additionally, they are well equipped to undertake legal studies addressing social issues and challenges .

Admission Requirements and Credit hours

Admission Requirements and  Credit hours required for obtaining the degree in this program:

  • Passing the General Secondary Examination (Tawjihi), or its equivalent, with an average of at least 75% in the scientific, literary or forensics stream.
  • For non-Palestinian students interested in enrolling in the program and don’t have the Palestinian General Secondary Examination (Tawjihi), their certificates should be equivalent to the Palestinian certificate and accepted by the Ministry of Higher Education.

ILOs

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs): Upon the completion of this specialization, students are expected to be able to:

 

  1. Practice the professional skills that qualify them to join the Bar Association after completing the specified training period.
  2. Engage in professional work requiring a Law Bachelor’s degree.
  3. Pursue postgraduate studies in various specialized fields of Law, such as Private Law, Public Law, and Criminal Law.
  4. Conduct scientific research and studies in different branches of Law and executing them.
  5. Apply their academic experiences in legal and judicial procedures.
  6. Analyze legal texts and demonstrate the ability to apply them.
  7. Prepare all necessary legal forms, templates, and reports.
  8. Plead in courts of various types and levels.
