The Library Administration is responsible for creating and implementing policies and strategies for the ongoing development of the library, supervising all departments, and keeping abreast of what is new in the world of library technology and information.

Acquisition and Collection Department

This department provides the library with all the sources and forms of information. They do this through recording and collecting materials and publications through exchange and donation programs with other universities and academic institutions, as well as continuous communication with the various publishers to maintain lists of new or interesting publications. This department is also concerned with distribution to the concerned parties to select from them and ensuring publications are binded properly..

Cataloguing Department

This department is responsible for organizing and processing information resources in the library through a series of technical procedures using the Anglo-American cataloging rules, the International Standardization of Bibliographic Description and the Dewey Decimal Classification System, 22 and the technical preparation of the publications after their classification and cataloguing.

Library Services Department

This department supervises all the services offered by the library:

  • Circulation service in line with the laws and policies of the library.
  • Preparation of reports and statistics on the circulation system, in addition to supervising reservations and renewals at the request of the academic staff.
  • Guidance services for library visitors, and training of students on how to access the information resources and methods of organizing books on the shelves and how to retrieve them using the online public access catalog, in addition to providing reference service for references and periodicals in the library.
  • Photocopying service for materials that are not allowed to be loaned such as references and periodicals at a reasonable cost.

Electronic Resources Department

This department is responsible for all of the operations necessary to manage and maintain the automated system used in the library in accordance with the needs of the library and its services. It also prepares and provides all non-printed materials (CDs, databases, electronic journals) .
